New England's National Historic Landmarks: Massachusetts


The National Register of Historic Places contains more than 85,000 sites, but only some 2,500 of them have been listed as National Historic Landmarks. New England is home to hundreds of these particularly significant structures, objects and places.

Paul Cuffe Farm, Westport


Paul Cuffe (1759–1817) was a wealthy African-American merchant, an advocate for minority rights in Massachusetts, and a promoter of resettling African-Americans to present-day Sierra Leone.
