New England's National Historic Landmarks: Connecticut


The National Register of Historic Places contains more than 85,000 sites, but only some 2,500 of them have been listed as National Historic Landmarks. New England is home to hundreds of these particularly significant structures, objects and places.

Florence Griswold House and Museum, Old Lyme

Boarding house frequented by American impressionist artists such as Henry Ward Ranger, Childe Hassam and Willard Metcalfe. It was built in the early 19th century.
