So, where's that apology?

Perhaps you remember how, only a few weeks ago, media bashers on the left were lambasting mainstream news organizations for allegedly ignoring Occupy Wall Street. The implication was that this supposed blackout was yet another example of gutless news types doing the bidding of their manipulative corporate bosses by turning a blind eye to inconvenient stories.

Yeah, right. Is there anyone left in America who is unaware of Occupy Wall Street and its progeny in other cities across the country? Once Occupy Wall Street became big enough to warrant news coverage, it got news coverage, if only because the news business is so competitive that no one could risk missing out on a hot story. That's how mainstream journalism works.

I haven't seen an apology yet for the accusation of self-censorship, but I'm sure it's in the offing. No doubt the red-faced critics are polishing their mea culpas, to make sure they get the wording just right.
