New England's National Historic Landmarks: Vermont


The National Register of Historic Places contains more than 85,000 sites, but only some 2,500 of them have been listed as National Historic Landmarks. New England is home to hundreds of these particularly significant structures, objects and places.

Vermont State House, Montpelier


The Vermont State House is the state capitol of Vermont. The current Greek Revival structure, which was first occupied in 1859, is the third building on the same site to be used as the State House.
