New England's National Historic Landmarks: New Hampshire


The National Registers of Historic Places contains more than 85,000 sites, but only some 2,500 of them have been listed as National Historic Landmarks. New England is home to hundreds of these particularly significant structures, objects and places.

John Paul Jones House, Portsmouth


The John Paul Jones House is the only known surviving structure in the United States associated with Revolutionary War naval hero John Paul Jones, who lived here in 1781-82 when it was a boarding house.
