New England's National Historic Landmarks: Massachusetts


The National Register of Historic Places contains more than 85,000 sites, but only some 2,500 of them have been listed as National Historic Landmarks. New England is home to hundreds of these particularly significant structures, objects and places.

MASSACHUSETTS
Nauset Archeological District, Eastham


This district encompasses sites containing substantial ancient settlements dating to at least 4,000 B.C. Some of these sites were described in the chronicles of early European explorers.
