New England's National Historic Landmarks: Massachusetts


The National Register of Historic Places contains more than 85,000 sites, but only some 2,500 of them have been listed as National Historic Landmarks. New England is home to hundreds of these particularly significant structures, objects and places.

Arthur D. Little Inc. Building, Cambridge

This 1917 building housed the nation's first successful independent consulting laboratory, Arthur D. Little. The company pioneered the idea of commercial laboratories as profit-making businesses.
