New England's National Historic Landmarks: Massachusetts


The National Register of Historic Places contains more than 85,000 sites, but only some 2,500 of them have been listed as National Historic Landmarks. New England is home to hundreds of these particularly significant structures, objects and places.

MASSACHUSETTS
First Church of Christ, Lancaster


One of the finest churches designed by Charles Bulfinch, this building was constructed in 1816 and is occupied by a congregation whose history dates to 1653.
