It isn't true that every dog has its day, but Jonny will have his

Jonny Justice

Dogs, unlike cats, do not have nine lives. But here’s one pooch who has had at least three of them.

His first time out, Jonny Justice was trapped in the nightmare that was Michael Vick’s dog fighting ring. Then the Staffordshire Bull Terrier was rescued and his second life - his real life - began. Now the Huffington Post reports that Jonny, who lives in San Francisco, "is about to be granted the highest honor any pup can dream of: being immortalized as a plush toy." That's because Jonny was recently named "the most beautiful dog in the country" in a contest sponsored by GUND, the stuffed-animal maker.

To honor Jonny's "unprecedented cuteness," HuffPost reports, "GUND's next plush doggie toy will look like him."

If Jonny looks like a Pit Bull to you, that’s because the Staffordshire Bull Terrier and the American Pit Bull Terrier are both so-called "bully breeds."

"You might be surprised to learn that some of America's most beloved dogs are considered bullies," discovery.com reports. "From large-and-in-charge Boxers to small and stout Boston Terriers, there are a variety of dogs that fall under the category of 'bully breeds.' Many of these dogs have unfair reputations for being dangerously aggressive -- especially pit bull breeds like the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier and American Pit Bull Terrier -- but they actually make for very loyal and loving pets."

Not to mention very cute ones.
