Farewell, Ann Curry - my life has lost all meaning

As you may have heard or read (how could you not?), Ann Curry co-hosted NBC's Today show for the last time yesterday.

Judging by the attention this monstrously tragic development received in the media (mainstream and otherwise), it is clear that Curry's exit will go down in history as one of the turning points of western civilization, akin to the crucifixion of Jesus, the invention of the printing press, the Allied landings on the beaches of Normandy during World War Two and, of course, the birth of Count Chocula (General Mills, 1971).

A Google search for "Ann Curry" this morning turned up 437 million results. Considering the magnitude of yesterday's heartbreaking farewell, I can only say I am shocked and saddened that the number is so small.
