I’ve mentioned before in this space that nothing better illustrates the sheer size of Oprah Winfrey’s apparently boundless ego than the fact that she appears on the cover of every single issue of her magazine, O, The Oprah Magazine. (Of course! What else would it be called?) Occasionally, she shares the limelight with some mere mortal, such as First Lady Michelle Obama. But to the best of my knowledge, O, The Oprah Magazine has never published an issue whose cover did not have Oprah front and center, either with or without a lesser human in tow.
Just when you thought Oprah couldn’t top herself in the “all Oprah all the time” sweepstakes, though, she’s done it in the current issue of O, The Oprah Magazine, which I had the misfortune of spotting at the bookstore the other day. The cover of O, The Oprah Magazine shows contemporary Oprah with her arm around the shoulder of 21-year-old Oprah. (Really. See the proof below. I’m not imaginative enough to make this stuff up.)
The dual Oprahs were on hand to illustrate a story in O, The Oprah Magazine entitled "How To Get Better With Age." I haven’t read it and don’t intend to, but I’m guessing that O, The Oprah Magazine's guide to aging does not recommend becoming more humble.
In fact, Oprah has done this sort of thing at least once before, when her (their) mag featured cover photos of slim Oprah and hefty Oprah, for a story about weight. How much do two Oprahs weigh, anyway? Let's not go there.
