I posted the other day about how difficult it is to properly dispose of dog poop in an environmentally safe way. Plastic supermarket bags are petroleum-based. Biodegradable bags sometimes produce methane in landfills. So-called "flushable" bags may clog up sewage-treatment plants, etc.
While you ponder the pros and cons of various options, you can scratch this dumpster in Portland, Maine, off your list of solutions. The owner has made it clear, in no uncertain terms, that you and Rover should look elsewhere, although I think he could have conveyed the same message with a bit more subtlety. Maybe "CANNOT CONTAIN CANINE CRAP" or "NO POOCH POOP, PLEASE."
There's no need to rub our noses in it, after all. On the plus side, at least he found a way to cover up the graffiti.
