Parents will never admit to loving one of their children more than the others; I suppose the same is true of cat owners.
Liz and I have four of the little beasties, and we cherish all of them: cranky but dignified Walter, a black beauty with a white mark on his chest; sweet-tempered Annie, a long-haired gray fur ball; persnickety tortoiseshell Clara, who will sit on your lap if and when she's ready, which is not often. And gregarious Maine coon cat Teddy, who's so affectionate he would be perfectly happy to be reincarnated as a dog.

That being said, I have to admit that Teddy probably is the most photogenic of the bunch. This four-year-old shelter alum is brimming with personality. He just loves having his picture taken, and with good reason, as you can see for yourself below. (His other attributes aside, those impressively long whiskers should be enough to entitle him to a winning score from the judges.)
Maine coon cat (and Maine resident) Theodore (aka Teddy and The Ted Man) strikes a pose. |
